Why study with us?
The Pan African Travel Medicine Federation and Kairuki University in Tanzania are offering an affordable online travel medicine course for African health professionals. This intensive course prepares practitioners to provide trusted travel medicine services to outbound and inbound travellers on the continent.
Students will learn with African and international experts in travel medicine, infectious diseases, and mental health. Course lecturers are respected practitioners and have extensive practical experience in the field.
Course objectives
The online course will enable health professionals to:

Practice best-evidence travel medicine by appraising latest knowledge about priority travel risks and applying this to relevant target groups

Explain international and national travel requirements

Demonstrate an understanding of international health regulations and the impact of travel on public health
Certification
A Certificate of Competence in Travel Medicine will be awarded by Kairuki University upon successful completion of the course.

How it works

The 28-hour course is a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning

Interim evaluations will be held throughout the course, including a final examination

Who should enroll?
This course is designed for African doctors, nurses, pharmacists and allied professionals outside of South Africa interested in integrating travel medicine in their practice. If you practice in South Africa, consider taking the Travel Medicine Course offered by the South African Society of Travel Medicine.
